animal stories continued....

Well, out of our 5 chicks we got two turned out to be roosters. One was Corban's, but we had to get rid of it when it started crowing at 5:30am. So, there were some people that had two rhode island reds about the same age as ours left and we decided that Corban could get those since we had to get rid of "Lovey". Since nothing I do seems to be simple, when we got all the way out to Sherwood the man told us what he hadn't told me on the phone.....that one of the hens was sitting. Yes, in the corner of the big shed there was the chicken sitting on 12 eggs. Well, Kent said that we were not going back out there after the chicks hatched to get the hen so we took the eggs in a box and tried to figure out what to do on the way home. We came up with an idea for a temporary shelter for her apart from the other chickens and she went right back to her eggs. Even though they have had hens hatch chicks last year, It's very unlikely that these eggs will hatch especially since they were in a box for a while, but we shall see. If they do, does anybody what some chickens?????!
